Arlen Briggs Named CFO and Treasurer of Armed Forces Insurance

One of AFI’s senior leaders is taking on a new role in 2010: Arlen Briggs, formerly assistant vice president of finance, was promoted to chief financial officer and treasurer.
“Arlen is an experienced and talented financial executive who has demonstrated exemplary skills during his career with AFI. Arlen will be a key member of the executive leadership team,” said Kurt Seelbach, president and CEO of AFI.
In his new role, Briggs is responsible for internal and external financial reporting as well as providing financial analysis, planning and decision support to the CEO, executive leadership team and board of directors. He will also participate in establishing the strategic direction and plan for AFI.
Before his promotion to CFO and treasurer, Briggs served as assistant vice president of finance of AFI. Prior to joining the organization, he spent six years with Universal Underwriters Group (now Zurich Direct Underwriters) and three years with accounting firm Ernst & Whinney.
Briggs is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance.
