WA Labor: Fran Logan calls on Barnett Government to help loan broking victims

The Barnett Government must assist the victims of the Mortgage Miracles and Mark Booty loan broking scandal, some of whom have lost their homes and are facing debts of hundreds of thousands of dollars, Shadow Consumer Protection Minister Fran Logan said today. In a Parliamentary Grievance today, Mr Logan said more than 400 Western Australians, including low income earners and pensioners, had been caught in the scam, where Kate Thompson, who operated mortgage broking and financial planning business Mortgage Miracles until last year, allegedly falsified details on borrowers application forms.
