Question by DK: Finding a good personal loan lender?
I would like to take out a personal loan to consolidate my debt. I have good credit but I’m having trouble finding a good lender (not a scam). I trust capital one and have an account with them but they are not accepting loan applications because of the hard times we are facing. Please help!

Hi DK,
I work for a lender that might be able to help. The company is called FirstAgain, an online consumer lender that provides unsecured personal loans to borrowers with excellent credit.
Generally speaking, FirstAgain defines someone with excellent credit as having the following characteristics:
- Five or more years of significant credit history with a variety of account types
- FICO score in the high 700s
- A proven ability to save money as evidenced by liquid assets, retirement savings, etc.
- Stable and sufficient income and assets to easily repay current debt obligations and any new loan with FirstAgain.
If that sounds like you, I recommend applying. Otherwise, you might look into getting a loan from your local bank or credit union, as some of those institutions are better positioned to lend right now than larger, national banks.

My suggestion would be to go to the bank that you bank with and ask them for a loan.
